Many jobs have traditionally required scaffolding out as a means of undertaking the work.  Rope access intervention has offered, in many instances, an alternative to this costly and time consuming methodology.

Typical jobs where rope access is now commonly used include:

spray painting lighthouses, towers and masts
video surveys monitoring of damage, record keeping of ongoing problems
still photographic work detailed close visual examinations
non-destructive testing MPI, UT, CP, Eddy Current
geotechnical survey work councils descaling cliff faces of loose rock
diverse engineering welding, cutting, grinding
mechanical fitting repairs and upgrades
